New England Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers was arrested on serious charges including assault, strangulation, and possession of a controlled substance. The incident occurred in Braintree, Mass., where Peppers allegedly assaulted his girlfriend. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and is currently under investigation

Details of the Incident
Peppers was arrested after a call reporting a disturbance between two individuals at a residence. According to the police report, Peppers’ girlfriend accused him of choking her multiple times and pushing her down a flight of stairs. Emergency medical services treated her at the scene for head and neck injuries. The substance found in Peppers’ possession is believed to be cocaine, classified as a Class “B” substance.

Charges and Court Appearance
Following his arrest, Peppers was charged with assault and battery, strangulation, and possession of the substance. He posted $2,500 bail and pleaded not guilty in court on Monday. His next court date has not been announced yet.

Patriots’ Response
The New England Patriots released a brief statement, acknowledging the incident and stating they are gathering more information. Head coach Jerod Mayo confirmed Peppers is allowed at team facilities while the investigation is ongoing. Mayo emphasized that the team is learning from the situation and has informed all players.
