Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that Israel is now fighting on seven fronts. This announcement comes nearly a year after the October 7 attacks by Hamas. In a recent video statement, Netanyahu emphasized Israel’s ongoing defense against multiple threats.

The Current Landscape

Netanyahu identified the threats facing Israel, which include Iranian-backed Hezbollah in the north and Hamas in Gaza. Additionally, he mentioned the Houthis in Yemen, “terrorists” in the West Bank, and Shiite militias in Iraq and Syria. He stated, “Today, Israel is defending itself on seven fronts against the enemies of civilization.”

Netanyahu also pointed to Iran’s involvement in this escalating conflict. He accused Iran of firing over 200 ballistic missiles directly at Israel last week. According to him, Iran is behind the coordinated attacks on these seven fronts.

The Situation in the North

In his address, Netanyahu reaffirmed his commitment to altering the balance of power in the north. This area has seen significant conflict with Hezbollah, which has launched rockets, missiles, and UAVs at Israel since October 8, 2023. The prime minister stressed that Israel would not forget the 101 hostages and is dedicated to bringing them home.

International Reactions

Netanyahu expressed his discontent with world leaders who support arms embargoes against Israel. He specifically called out French President Emmanuel Macron and other countries for their stance. “Shame on” those leaders who limit Israel’s ability to defend itself, he stated.

Israel’s Resolve

In conclusion, Netanyahu assured the public, “Rest assured, Israel will fight until the battle is won.” He emphasized the importance of this fight not only for Israel’s security but for global peace as well. The situation remains tense, with Iran-backed militant groups intensifying their attacks. Groups like the Houthis and Hezbollah claim their actions support the Palestinians in Gaza. The ongoing military campaign has resulted in significant casualties and a humanitarian crisis.
